Rumors about a sequel to the much-talked-of Clash of Titans first appeared in March 2010 as Tamer Hassan (Ares from Clash of the Titans) stated at the film’s premier about possibility of a sequel. Several months later, it was reported that Jonathan Liebesman would direct the sequel, and Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes would be back in the sequel. What can we expect from the upcoming Wrath of the Titans? The story continues a decade after the events presented in the first film. Perseus (Sam Worthington) lives a quiet life of a village fisherman and cares for his 10-year son, Helius. A struggle between the Titans and the gods for supremacy is gaining strength. Lack of devotion from humans significantly weakens the god’s control over the Titans with Kronos at the head. Kronos is the father of Zeus (Liam Neeson), Poseidon (Danny Huston) and Hades (Ralph Fiennes), whose triumvirate had vanquished the father a long time ago. Since that time Kronos stayed in Tartarus, a gloomy dungeon of the vast underworld. Pretty interesting, isn’t it? Then the situation develops even further, involving more and more participants. Ares (played by Edgar Ramirez) and Hades covenant with Kronos intending to capture Zeus. Perseus cannot withstand his true calling as the Titans are getting stronger while Zeus’s powers are diminishing. With the help of Andromeda (played by Rosamund Pike), the warrior Queen, Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), fallen god, and Agenor, Poseidon’s demigod son, Perseus sets off into the dark underworld to save Zeus, overthrow fierce Titans and, of course, save mankind.
